About Jeff
More than a career...
Hello!
My name is Jeffrey Golabek and I am a full-time Software Engineer, with 7 years of experience in teaching and tutoring students in Mechanical, Computer, and Electrical Engineering courses.
I picked Engineering as my degree program because I thought it was a straightforward way to earn a good living.
But what I wasn't expecting was for Engineering to become my true passion.
During my Mechanical Engineering degree, I discovered the joy of understanding concepts at a deep level - to a degree that I didn't know was possible.
High School had taught me to memorize facts and equations, but now, I was learning to derive equations and visualize concepts myself, and deploy them to solve any problem.
Also intriguing to me was the ability to use this knowledge to build things in the real world.
I became fascinated with electronics, computers, and robotics - high tech fields that allow you to easily practice with the knowledge you are learning
My professors were not effective at explaining concepts and answering questions, so after earning my BSME, I chose to pursue the Electrical and Computer Engineering disciplines my own way.
I designed a 3 year self-study program that combined reading textbooks, building projects, and most importantly, tutoring.
The best way to learn something is teach it, and as I learned new material, I practiced with it by teaching my fellow Engineering students [testimonials]
I am now employed full time as a Software Engineer doing work that I love, alongside fellow professionals in the field that allow me to stay sharp among the latest in technology
I also believe I have a unique gift for teaching and mentorship, which I would like to share with you.
My goal is ultimately to "ignite the spark" and help you realize that the analytical mind, and attention to detail you possess is a perfect fit for the Engineering world.
I would be honored to guide you on your learning journey as you explore this great, exciting field of Engineering!
Jeff
